I haven't touched it in a while. But did create my own stronghold. Very little activity where I am so dominating large areas was easy. Next time I go on I expect it to be unrecognizable. I probably should go on later this summer to rebuild my empire.

There's evidence that the route mechanic Niantic has been working on for the past couple years in Pokemon GO will behave in a similar manner to connecting portals in Ingress. I really hope Niantic invests more in this addition to the game; there's hardly any reason to play the game outside the city otherwise.
