Bootleg 4chans, as you put it, pop up with reasonable regularity. There was 7chan, 420chan, 8chan, masterchan, and prolly a bunch of others, those are just the ones i have used over the years. Dunno how many still exist..,i know 420chan is still there. But people like them because they tend to generate more interesting discussion amongst a smaller userbase, unlike 4chan which is mainly wojack, frog and posters saying "based". Or, when i used masterchan, it became a haven for cp. Some people like it, others find it boring or tedious.
